Matthew C. Ragan, M.D.
No stranger to the Wiregrass area, Dr. Matthew C. Ragan, is originally from Dothan, Alabama and is excited to return to his hometown. Dr. Ragan has a passion for serving and giving back to his community. He values strong relationships, kindness and demonstrates a genuine concern for his patient’s health, making him an excellent fit for the growing team at Aventa. Dr. Ragan attendedAuburn University, where he graduatedcum laudewith his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences. After completing his undergraduate, he obtained his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine at Birmingham. He then went on to serve his Medical Residency at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Ragan is a member of The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He also held a membership with the Association of Professors of Obstetrics and Gynecology students and OB/GYN interest Groups at UAB. Among his accomplishments, he was awarded The Turner Medical Society Scholarship, which is given to local Wiregrass medical students who exemplify good citizenship, leadership and scholarship.In Dr. Ragan’s spare time, he enjoys volunteering with his church and outdoor activities with his wife and two sons.
