Driven and passionate to provide “something more” to women’s health care. Dr. LaToya Torrence embodies Aventa Specialized Women’s Care’s mission to provide the best care for women at all stages of life.
Dr. Torrence is a Dothan Alabama, native, and cares deeply for her community. She joins Aventa with the hopes to provide upstanding care to the women of her hometown. Dr. Torrence attended the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee.
She then completed her residency at the University of Florida in Pensacola at Sacred Heart Hospital. In 2004 Dr. Torrence joined Obstetrics and Gynecology of Dothan. She has dedicated the past 14 years to practicing full and comprehensive medicine in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Torrence has a series of seminars titled “Mother Daughter Girl Talk” to educate young girls on women’s health and the complexities of growing up. Dr. Torrence knows that communication is essential when it comes to women’s health.
“I am honored to care for several generations in the same family! I am thrilled to care for the mother, daughters, and grandmothers in several families. Ensuring their health is my top priority, but taking the time to applaud a patient’s personal achievements through the years and or helping them through difficult life transitions is a bond I hold very dear,” Torrence says.
